WHAT PEOPLE SAY
"It is a very friendly atmosphere. It feels like you are sitting down with your family whenever you attend a Church function.
"The South East is a tough place to find solidly Confessional Lutheran Churches. Prince of Peace (WELS) is a breath of fresh air in the region. The Pastor serves the congregation diligently, passionately, and confessionally each week. The Sunday School classes are warm and inviting and the teaching is solid.
"Great church, great Bible studies, and great fellowship with brothers and sisters in God's family.
Questions & Answers

What should I wear?

Just wear clothes. Jeans, business casual, dresses or shorts. The Bible presents no dress code. We are much more interested in sharing the good news of Jesus with you than we are in what you are wearing.
What if I have young children or babies?

The Gospel of Jesus is for people of all ages! We eagerly welcome even the smallest children to our worship. Our congregation has many families with young children and babies, and we encourage you to bring your entire family. It is normal to hear children in the background during the service. We even have a special message for the little ones every 2nd and 4th Sunday. If your child does become restless, we have a nursery room with toys and books. Here, you and your child can still hear and see the service. There are also activity bags for the children. The ushers will be happy to help you if you need any assistance.
Will I be asked to stand up and say something?

No. We want you to feel comfortable at Prince of Peace. We will never single you out or call attention to you. We want you to be relaxed and learn about what your Savior has done for you.
Am I required to give money?
The Bible teaches that our to God should reflect our understanding that everything we have is a gift from Him. By giving, we worship and honor God. Like many Christians, our members contribute offerings to God through their church. You may want to learn more about our ministry before making your offerings, but you are welcome to give as your heart guides. Since offerings are expressions of love, there are no set amounts; they are simply gifts given back to the One who first loved us.
What should I expect at worship?

Every church has its own style of worship. Our worship at Prince of Peace would be categorized as "liturgical." What that means is that we have a set order of service that we use every week. While each service is unique as to its theme, readings, and sermon, there are certain elements of our worship that will be there every week.
Our service will almost always include:
-
An Invocation, calling on the name of Lord whom we have come to worship.
-
An admission of our sins, and assurance of our forgiveness in Jesus.
-
Bible readings, a sermon, the offering, prayers, hymns and a final blessing.
These elements of our service have been part of Christian worship for two millennia. They have their roots in Old Testament worship but are presented in contemporary language and settings along with modern applications.
Each week, the key elements of our worship are mentioned in our bulletin. The exact order of service and hymns are located in our hymnal. The worship leader will direct you to the exact page or pages necessary to follow along. The service focuses on the readings from the Bible. There we hear God talking to us. In music and prayer, we respond to what God has said, praising Him and giving thanks to Him for His great love. We think that you'll enjoy the services at Prince of Peace. We invite you to come and see for yourself!

Holy Communion
When our congregation celebrates the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, we want to remember two important aspects as we receive it:
Through the Lord's Supper, Jesus Christ gives a personal pledge of the forgiveness of our sins, which he won for us through his perfect life and his willing sacrifice on the cross.
As the Savior draws repentant sinners to himself, he also draws them into a special bond of faith with one another. This bond between believers is called Fellowship. One aspect of this Fellowship is our Scriptural practice of Closed Communion. Only those who are united with us in our beliefs are to join us in the partaking of our Lord's body and blood.
For those who have not communed with us before, we ask that we have an opportunity to discuss our faith. Such a discussion and study of the Word of God provides the basis for Fellowship and Closed Communion. We are eager to discuss our faith and the Word of God together! Please speak with the pastor after our worship service. He will be happy to share more information with you.
